Trista and Mauricio recently attended the American
Society of Hematology annual meeting held in Atlanta, Georgia. Postdoctoral fellow Mauricio Cortes gave a
talk on his abstract titled “Vitamin D3 Modulates Definitive Hematopoiesis by Two
Distinct Mechanisms in the Developing Zebrafish Embryo.” In addition of his
abstract being selected for an oral presentation, Mauricio received an ASH
Abstract Achievement Award for his work.
Continuing tradition, we attended Len Zon’s Zebrafish Myeloid lunch, where we shared our recent work with other zebrafish blood colleagues and discussed the latest advances in zebrafish hematology research. We enjoyed our time in Atlanta listening to exciting science and meeting new people. After four days of outstanding science, we culminated the meeting over dinner and drinks with our friends.
See you in New Orleans in 2013!
