Hematology Meeting

In August, several members of the North Lab traveled to Amsterdam to attend the International Society for Experimental Hematology Annual Meeting.  All three members who submitted abstracts were selected to give talks at the meeting!  Graduate student Kelli Carroll gave a talk entitled “Exposure to Exogenous Estrogens Impairs Formation of the Hematopoietic Niche in Embryonic Zebrafish,” while postdoc Virginie Esain’s talk was titled “Regulation of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Formation by Eicosanoids.” Trista also gave a talk on the “Metabolic Regulation of Hematopoietic Stem Cells”.  We had a great time at the meeting and enjoyed getting to hear some interesting science while making new friends and catching up with old ones.

In addition, we spent some time exploring the sites in Amsterdam.  We visited the Rijksmuseum, the Anne Frank House, and took a cruise on the canals through the city.
